Los Angeles, CA —October 17, 2018 — Road case company Fiasco Cases has released a new case designed especially for the latest generation of profile lights.
The LX Profile Case boasts several innovative features. Rather than dividing a standard trunk up into ellipsoidal-sized compartments, the Fiasco design team reimagined the design from scratch. The result is a cutting-edge lighting road case that Fiasco believes is more space-efficient, more versatile, and more ergonomic than other existing options.
“The industry is moving on from older-style profile lights, like Selecon Pacifics and the old Source Fours, so customers have been asking for a solution for the new breed of ellipsoidal,” says head designer, Matt Waterhouse. “The LX Profile Case is that solution.”
The case comes in two sizes: the 6-Up (24x30) and the 12-Up (24x60), which hold up to six and twelve lights respectively. Fiasco believes they have hit upon a design that maximizes usable space. “You’d be hard-pressed to find a more space-efficient lighting case,” says Waterhouse.
Not only is the LX Profile Case designed to take the newer wave of profile lights, it can accommodate most lens configurations too, unlike standard trunks. The case can take lights fitted with any of the standard 14 to 90 lens options for fixed focus; and 15–30 and 25–50 zooms options also. The case works with the LED ETC Source Four, the Chauvet Ovation LED Ellipsoidal range, and EK Profile lights. In addition to these and other recent profile lights, the case is compatible with the traditional Source Four. That versatility means the case will be a total solution for most production companies.
The most eye-grabbing feature, however, is the fold-down sides. Imagine an upside-down version of the iconic Mercedes “Gullwing” doors and your mental image is probably not far off. The inspiration came from another unconventional Fiasco design, the Multi-Fit Monitor Case. These foldable, semi-detachable sides mean the lift-over height of the case is significantly lower than standard cases. This allows for easy, ergonomic access to profile lights. Since the dimensions are compatible with other Fiasco cases, both models of case fit within the larger “Truck Packology” system.
“If you’re looking for a case for profile lights that’s compact, safe, and cleverly designed, then it’s a no-brainer,” says Waterhouse. “The LX Profile is the only Leko case you’ll ever need.”
