Truth In Audio Academy to attend LDI2018 with some 1980's surprises

From: Truth In Audio

Description

Las Vegas, October 17, 2018

What do you get when you combine a group of audio industry veterans assembled for a new approach to training, and a great theme like LDI’s 30th-year-anniversary celebrations? You get Truth In Audio’s 1980s restomodded PA, and some great entertainment! Not only will the restored and modified (“restomod”) PA system be present, but TIA has also organized some 1980’s music from Def Leppard and some surprises from their FOH engineer in those days, Robert Scovill. Scovill will feed a vintage analog Gamble mixing console, restored and provided by Sound Image, to present three live tracks of Def Leppard captured from their 1983 performance at the LA Forum. These tracks are being provided with the approval of Def Leppard, management, and their current FOH engineer, Ronan McHugh.

Truth In Audio (TIA) was founded early in 2018 by an industry veteran, Bernie Broderick. TIA is completely revolutionizing live audio training through a mobile academy, and the industry heavyweights he has assembled as collaborators. Offering two-, three- and five-day-trainings through the TIA Academy, this new approach sees the trainers going to the students, instead of the other way around. “This new approach gives potential students a chance to be trained in their hometown, instead of having to travel to a training session, saving them time and money”, says Broderick. “With the surge in the number of bands touring in the USA and Canada, audio system technicians and personnel are needed now more than ever”, he says.

At this years’ LDI, TIA will present a restomodded EAW KF750 system, demonstrating the prowess of the company and its collaborators. “I wanted to participate at LDI 2018 and entertain everyone with an updated 1980s-icon PA system in line with this year’s theme. It clearly shows what brainpower is behind the academy and gives our manufacturer-sponsors a chance to demonstrate some very cool products”, Broderick says. “Potential students, and potential employers, present at LDI can stop by and talk to us about audio training, and have a look at the kind of projects we will be getting involved with through our HotRod division”, explains Broderick. “HotRod gives everyone involved with the academy – trainers, students, and our sponsors, the chance to think outside the “box”, so to speak”, continues Broderick, “It’s exciting to see everyone from this great industry – audio veterans, students, music icons like Def Leppard and Robert Scovill, and manufacturers working together in a way to produce a show for LDI that’s never been done before”, he concludes. Stop by booth LO-9 (Live Outside) for a demo (1:00, 3:30, and the same on Saturday with an extra final show at 7:00 pm) of the system, and chat with TIA personnel to learn more about the Academy and upcoming training sessions.
